In-house workshops and demos presented by some of our local artists in watercolour, acrylic, pastel and mixed media are offered throughout the year. These workshops cover all aspects of painting such as: the use of new products, beginner and advanced painting in all mediums, composition, design, perspective and colour theory. Usually once a year a recognized professional artist is invited to Osoyoos to do a workshop. Global Wellness Day, held June 8

Three Artists on Main members: Lorraine Gibson, Marcia Hurley and Pam Duncan, represented ODAC (Osoyoos and District Arts Council) and Artists on Main to demo paint pouring and watercolor painting – the creative aspect of wellness. The event was held at the Desert Sun Counselling Centre 8701 Main St. We had participation in creating art from both adults and children. Global Wellness Day is a not-for-profit day, a social project dedicated to living well. The purpose of Global Wellness Day is to ask the question, even if for just one day, “How can I live a healthier and better life?”, to direct the thoughts of both individuals and society towards “living well” and to raise awareness.

Check out the website: http://www.globalwellnessday.org
